About Me
Fourteen years “officially” in the marketing world has taught me that a flashy brand means nothing if the operational foundation underneath it is shaking.
I’m Laugharne (Larn). Born, raised, and based on The West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island. (And yes, we should always capitalise ‘The’ of The West Coast. Make it a part of the official name, for goodness sake!) Living and working here teaches you to be practical, resourceful, and protective of local identity.
Over the years, my work has naturally evolved from pure marketing into deep Project Facilitation & Strategic Guidance. True strategic planning isn’t about corporate jargon; it’s about capability and resilience. It’s about knowing how to sit down one-on-one with volunteer-led groups to assess their structural needs, navigating complex funding systems to turn seed grants into major external leverage, and coordinating technical experts to bring physical plans to life.
My core focus is on serving the sectors that define a region’s landscape and memory: heritage, tourism, and outdoor recreation. Because these industries require a unique blend of community trust, logistical discipline, and modern support.
Any businesses or projects outside of this scope are considered on a case-by-case basis—because while the core skills of strategic execution are universally applicable, I dedicate my primary energy to the projects that actively build a region’s future on the smell of an oily rag.
